“I’m 86 and my wife is 83 years young. We met in our early teens at a Christian youth gathering here in Dublin. The venue was on the opposite side of the road from where I was standing, and her face stood out from all the other faces. And I thought to myself “that’s my girl!” At the social gathering, she came around with a plate of biscuits. And I said if you were on the plate “I’ll take it!” We’ve been married 62 years now!
My advice to couples is to really fall in love. Don’t put love in a straight jacket. There must be constant spontaneity.
Don’t ever get in the area of blame. The solution is always God. Covenant relationship. Never contemplate divorce. Marriage takes alot of obedience.
Jesus learned obedience through His suffering for us. His whole sacrifice was an act of obedience. By His obedience, His sacrifice was perfect. He laid down His life as an act of obedience. He was a Victor and not a victim on the cross.”
